Valerie began her career in the industry in 1970, when she became an analyst and then a trader with a London stockbroker. From 1976 to 1986 she worked at the London Stock Exchange on settlement projects including linkages with other clearing houses. After a spell at Citibank immediately after 'Big Bang, she became an independent consultant and has gained a reputation as a leading expert in all matters concerned with trading, clearing and settlement and depositories. She has also worked extensively on securities regulation world-wide.
