Estella Tang

Estella Tang is a senior manager and operational / regulatory expert in the securities and futures markets. In 1973 she was appointed as the second full time staff member (the first one being the Commissioner) of the newly created Hong Kong Securities Commission, the precursor to the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission and was instrumental in building it up. After that she held major executive positions with the HKSC prior to becoming an independent consultant. She has participated in several ADB, UNDP and USAID sponsored projects, ranging from capital market development, capacity building for SEC and the stock exchanges, enhancement of surveillance and enforcement capability of the SEC, training of the regulators and market participants.
