The International Securities Consultancy, (ISC) is one of the world's leading capital market consultancies. We specialize in providing advice and technical assistance to governments, stock exchanges, regulators, and multi-national financial organizations on all facets of establishing and developing capital markets.

ISC is owned by its directors and is completely independent. We are not part of a wider management or IT consultancy; we are experts in the business, technical and legal aspects of setting up and running capital markets, having gained and utilized our wealth of experience in countries throughout the world, spanning markets from Russia to Australia, China to Bermuda.

ISC has carried out projects from the very beginning, (i.e. a feasibility study to determine whether a capital market in a particular country or region would be practicable and sustainable) right through all the many stages involved in establishing a market. These comprise numerous considerations such as: overall design; mode of operation; legal and regulatory framework; staff selection; development of the technical skills of exchange and regulatory staff and market participants; the listing and issuance of new financial instruments; system design and selection (both IT and manual), etc. We also provide post-implementation support and intermittent specific guidance as the market gets on its feet, encountering, and learning to deal with, the day to day events, tasks and problems common to all markets. For more mature markets, we assist with development into such growth areas as derivatives, information vending etc., and the upgrade of systems and procedures. We also carry out quality assurance studies, research projects and advice on product development. In this way we offer a complete service to capital markets organizations of all types, which can be used in part or in whole, as required.

Further details of the type of projects in which we have been involved are given later on in this booklet, but it is worth mentioning here, that much of our success is due to our highly practical approach to the tasks we are set. Our consultants are all experienced practitioners, not academic theorists. They have worked extensively in capital markets, within stock and derivatives exchanges and banks, as regulators and as traders, in the USA, Europe, Australia, Africa and Asia.

ISC has undertaken work for such institutions as the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation, the EBRD, the UK Department for International Development, USAID, TACIS and PHARE, and the Asian Development Bank, in countries throughout the world, and has become known as one of the premier authorities on capital market development.
